CHARCOAL AND PASTELS

Charcoal is a medium that I don’t think I could ever let go off.It has shown me its ugly, messy side and also its beautiful, fun side.

Ever since the first time I did Charcoal I fell in love with it. I love the way it's forgiving to all your mistakes. Of course to an extent.

If you have worked with charcoal I’m sure you know what I mean. Nevertheless it has shown me to have fun and indulge the moment.

Even if after you get up, you’ll have charcoal all over your favorite pans.

Pastels in the over hand are more gentle to the touch smooth and not chalky. Not quite as for giving but evenly beautiful.

Now I can't personally say I fell in love with pastels like I did with charcoals, even though I stated to do them at the same time.

Pastels are very fragile and for a heavy hand like mine they were not as forgiving as I would of hope them to be. I had to practice quite a lot. It took me some years to actually enjoy creating art with them.

Now they are on of my favorite mediums.
